Mail in ballots for June primary arriving in mailboxes soon

The San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters will be delivering Voter Information Guides to the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) on Tuesday, May 3 for the June 7, 2022 Statewide Direct Primary Election. The guides include a sample ballot, candidate statements, early voting sites, and other important information about this election.

Mail-in ballots will follow on May 9 for each of the County’s 1.15 million active registered voters.

Early Voting for the primary election begins Monday, May 9 at the Registrar of Voters office at 777 E. Rialto Avenue in San Bernardino during regular business hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Voters may either pick up a ballot to vote from home or cast their ballot in person.

The County Registrar has also released their schedule of observation related to the election. All events will take place at the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters office and are open to the public:

  • May 5, 2022 – Logic and accuracy testing of the County’s high-speed ballot scanners, precinct ballot scanners and vote tabulation system begins at 10 a.m. and continues on May 6, 2022, if needed.
  • May 9, 2022 – Processing of mail ballot return envelopes begins at 8 a.m. and is performed daily, Monday through Friday, until the daily workload is complete.
  • May 16, 2022 – Processing of mail ballots begins at 8 a.m. and is performed daily, Monday through Friday, until the daily workload is complete.
  • May 31, 2022 – Counting of mail ballots begins at 9 a.m. and continues periodically, Monday through Friday, until the daily workload is complete.
  • June 7, 2022 – The counting of polling place ballots begins shortly after the polls close at 8 p.m. and continues until complete.
  • June 8, 2022 – The official canvass begins at 8 a.m. and will be completed on or before July 7, 2022.
  • June 9, 2022 – The random precinct selection for the one percent manual tally of polling place ballots counted on the high-speed ballot scanners and precinct ballot scanners takes place at 10:30 a.m.
  • June 15, 2022 – The one percent manual tally of ballots counted on the high-speed ballot scanners and precinct ballot scanners begins at 9 a.m. and is performed daily, Monday through Friday, until complete.
  • June 15, 2022 – The random batch selection for the one percent manual tally of mail ballots counted on the high-speed ballot scanners takes place at 2 p.m.
