University Parkway Reopens with New Configuration

University Parkway Reopens with New Configuration

On March 2 the San Bernardino California Transportation Authority (SBCTA) reopened University Parkway at the Interstate 215 featuring its new Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI). All nearby businesses remain open.

The new DDI configuration, which is expected to reduce congestion and boost safety at one of San Bernardino’s busiest intersections, will move traffic to the opposite side of the road in order to eliminate traffic signal cycles at the freeway on and offramps.

Motorists are encouraged to follow the street arrows, signs, and traffic signals to ensure safe travelling while everyone gets used to the new lanes.

Additional work will continue at the interchange over the next two months. When fully completed, additional lanes will be added to further reduce congestion.

For additional information, please contact SBCTA at 877-55-SBCTA or by email at info@goSBCTA.com.
