Planning Commission gives coffee house green light

A project to bring Oregon-based Dutch Bros. Coffee to Hospitality Lane has been given the green light by the San Bernardino City Planning Commission.

The coffee house will be located on a 1.5-acre site on the south side of East Hospitality Lane, west of South Tippecanoe Avenue.

To mitigate traffic, a new stoplight will be installed near the property and the building will have double drive-thru lanes and runners to bring customers their orders if they get done early and allow them to exit without waiting for other cars ahead of them.

While Dutch Bros. does not have indoor seating, there will be a patio and tables to provide cover and seating for those waiting for their orders.

Dutch Bros., has 500 stores nationwide and is reportedly a hit with teens and college students. Other inland locations include Yucaipa, Eastvale, Apple Valley and Victorville.

Once open, the San Bernardino Dutch Bros. will operate 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
