The shopping center on the Southeast corner of Highland and Sterling Avenues in east San Bernardino has had its challenges over the decades. Previously only anchored by Cardena’s Grocery Store and O’Reilly’s Auto Parts, the center now has added both a Starbuck’s and a Wendy’s.
Beijing Express has been serving customers in this neighborhood mall for years with good portions of tasty Chinese food at a very reasonable price. And while ownership might have changed, the friendly service and large selections have not.
With a similar selection to national chain Chinese food at a far lower price, if you are looking for fast takeout with much larger portions, Beijing Express is definitely a restaurant for you.
We had the two-entre plate with Kung Poa Chicken and Beijing Beef. It comes with two sides of Chow Mein, fried or regular rice, or a rice noodle dish they also offer all for just $8.00. They don’t go lightly on any of the items and fill the plate to the brim. Chinese food, of course, is not a low-carb meal and this restaurant does not disappoint.
For take-out Chinese, the food is very good. We were also pleased with the friendly, fast and courteous service. If you are looking for a quick lunch or dinner, you should definitely give Beijing Express next door to O’Reilly Auto Parts a try.
