This Saturday, October 11th, downtown San Bernardino will transform into a vibrant celebration of classic cars, live entertainment, and family fun. From 9 AM to 9 PM, car enthusiasts and families alike will gather to admire an array of stunning vehicles, enjoy local vendors, and soak in the nostalgic atmosphere of America’s most iconic highway.
Organized by the San Bernardino Area Chamber of Commerce, this event takes the public back to the golden era of cool cars, muscle cars, and cars that earlier generations used to show off when gas was less than a dollar a gallon.
The original Route 66 Rendezvous began in 1990 as a modest one-day event at Glen Helen Regional Park, attracting 300 classic cars and 4,000 spectators. Over the years, it grew into a major four-day festival, drawing over 2,000 classic and custom cars and half a million visitors from around the world. This event became a beloved tradition, celebrating the rich history of Route 66, also known as the “Mother Road,” which was established in the 1920s and fully paved by the 1930s.
Today, the Rendezvous Back to Route 66 continues to be a highlight in San Bernardino’s calendar, celebrating the legacy of Route 66 and the community’s love for classic cars. The event not only honors the past but also brings together people of all ages to enjoy the timeless charm of the “Mother Road.”
The event borders are “E” Street to the west, 5th Street to the north, Arrowhead to the east and 2nd Street to the south. The cruise route will wind itself around and through the event area. Parking is available in the County Parking lots off of 3rd and 5th streets. Additional parking is available in the parking structure at 2nd & “E” Street. The Carousel Mall parking lot is closed. No public parking in the Superior Court parking lot.
