San Bernardino seeking public comments on grant proposal

City Hall is asking for help. The City of San Bernardino is applying for state grant funding to support the Police Department’s OHV Enforcement Team and is requesting input from the public during this process.

The competitive grant is from the California State Parks Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Division aimed at improving public safety and protecting natural areas from illegal off-highway vehicle (OHV) activity.

If awarded, the city would use the grant funds to increased patrols, equipment maintenance, and enforcement efforts to reduce noise disturbances, property damage, and environmental harm caused by unauthorized OHV activity. The program will also strengthen collaboration with neighboring law enforcement agencies to ensure safe and legal OHV use in the region.

The public is encouraged to review the proposal and share their feedback. Input will help understand any community concerns and ensure responsible OHV management.

The public comment period for the grant period is open through 5:00 pm on May 5, 2025. To provide comments, please email [email protected].
