San Bernardino to hold workshops this month for redistricting

Every 10 years, the City of San Bernardino, like other local and state governments, must go through a redistricting process using the new census data to redraw their district lines to reflect how local populations have changed.

San Bernardino started the process earlier this year with the Council voting on the steps that would be undertaken. Over the next several months, the City will be looking at maps, taking input and finalizing boundaries. The new district lines need to be finalized before the filing period opens for the November 2022 election.

To gain public input on how ward boundaries should be drawn to best represent the community, the City is holding workshops in each of the seven districts this month. The dates and locations are:

October 12, 2021 – 6pm
Feldheym Central Library, 555 W. 6th Street

Ward 3
October 19, 2021 – 6pm
Garcia Center for the Arts, 536 W. 11th Street

Ward 4
October 16, 2021 – 10am
Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 5050 N. Sierra Way

Ward 6
October 18, 2021 – 6pm
Delmann Heights Park, 2969 N. Flores Street

Ward 3
October 21, 2021 – 6pm
Lytle Creek Community Center, 380 S. K Street

Ward 7
October 23, 2021 – 11am
