Volunteers needed for San Bernardino County homeless count

San Bernardino County will be conducting it’s annual point-in-time count on January 26 and volunteers are needed to assist with the count of sheltered and unsheltered people experiencing homelessness.

The annual count is required by Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the data assists county and local cities get government and grant funding to address homelessness.

Volunteers will need an Android smartphone, iPhone or iPad to  use the County’s web application, Arc GIS Survey123, for the survey. Devices should be no more than three or four years old and have at least 100 MB of available space.

Volunteers are asked to sign up by Jan. 18 to allow for training before the count. Online registration is available at https://sbchp.sbcounty.gov/community-projects/point-in-time-count/pitc-registration/.
