San Bernardino Water Department seeking entries for poster contest

San Bernardino Water Department seeking entries for poster contest

Calling all young artists. San Bernardino Municipal Water Department’s (SBMWD) annual water awareness poster contest is back.

Each year, SBMWD holds a water awareness poster contest throughout their service area to encourage students to use their creativity by illustrating the importance of water awareness. The winning students and their teachers are recognized for their efforts and the selected artwork is featured in the Department’s annual water conservation calendar. Winners of the 2024 contest will receive a prize of $100!

Guidelines for posters are:

  • Poster artwork must communicate a water awareness theme in English or Spanish.
  • Posters must be in HORIZONTAL (landscape) orientation. Please do not create your poster vertically.
  • DO NOT use lined notebook paper.
  • Do not fold your artwork.
  • Keep writing simple. Short slogans and phrases are best.
  • Write text so it is large and easy to read.
  • Use bold and bright colors.
  • Be creative, original, and DO NOT COPY. Artwork that is copied from prior contests or calendars will be disqualified. No copyrighted material. (i.e. no Mickey Mouse, SpongeBob, etc.)
  • Neatness and spelling counts! Try not to scribble.
  • If you are submitting artwork online – KEEP YOUR ORIGINAL COPY!
  • Review your work and use a new piece of paper if you need to.

Submissions are due by April 26. Participants can submit entries at SBMWD.org.

All posters become property of SBMWD. Winning students will be notified and arrangements made with teachers and/or parents to present awards and prizes.

Contact Dorian Brown at (909)-453-6053 or [email protected] with any questions. Contest is not endorsed by the San Bernardino City Unified School District.
