San Bernardino Releases Draft General Plan for Public Comment

The City of San Bernardino has released its Draft 2050 General Plan, Draft Downtown Specific Plan, and Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for public review and comment.

The Draft 2050 General Plan represents a comprehensive update that will replace the City’s existing 2005 General Plan in its entirety. The General Plan serves as the City’s long-term blueprint for growth and development, establishing a vision for the future while guiding decisions on land use, housing, transportation, infrastructure, parks and open space, environmental conservation, public services, and economic development.

California law requires every city to adopt and maintain a General Plan to guide future planning and development. Once adopted, the 2050 General Plan will provide the policy framework for City decision-making over the coming decades.

The public review and comment period is open through July 31, 2026. Community members, stakeholders, and interested organizations are encouraged to review the draft documents and submit comments.
