San Bernardino City Unified School District wins Golden Bell award

San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD) has been selected by the California School Boards Association (CSBA) as 2025 Golden Bell Awards recipient for it’s Pathway to Biliteracy Program.

SBCUSD is one of five districts in San Bernardino County to receive the award this year.

The CSBA Golden Bell Awards program promotes excellence in education and school board governance by recognizing outstanding programs and governance practices of school boards in school districts and county offices of education throughout California. The Golden Bell Awards reflect the depth and breadth of education programs and governance decisions supporting these programs that are necessary to address students’ changing needs.

“The range of programs recognized, from wellness and family engagement to biliteracy and special education, truly reflects the diversity of our students and families in our local communities,” said County Superintendent Ted Alejandre. “Each program demonstrates how our districts are meeting unique needs with compassion, supporting every student’s journey toward success.”
