Students from Cajon High’s Academy of Arts & Creative Technologies won Best Student Film at the 2nd Annual Inland Film Festival held September 13 according to a statement from the San Bernardino City Unified School District.
The short film “Johnny, It’s Okay” depicts a disciplined girl who finds that one reckless evening can unravel everything she’s fought for. The film was directed by Brymer Sindanum and executive produced by Andie Garcia, with cinematography by Kartavya Singh and starring Tatiana Eden Ochoa, Isaac Vanegas, Aiyana Vasquez and Jesse Zarco.
Organized by the Arts Connection Network, the Inland Empire Film Festival empowers local filmmakers to tell their own stories, strengthens the region’s creative economy, and nurtures the fabric of our communities.
This year’s festival featured film screenings at Regal Cinema and an awards ceremony at the University of Redlands. It showcased a variety of genres and student films, with the goal of promoting the region’s creative economy by highlighting stories that often go overlooked in mainstream media.
