San Bernardino ranks as top destination for RV travel

San Bernardino is making a name for itself, and this time it’s not for crime, corruption or bankruptcy.

San Bernardino is quickly becoming the top destination for RV rentals according to RVshare, a company that operates like Airbnb for RVs.

With flexible itineraries and cost savings compared to other forms of travel, RV travel continues to gain in popularity. Nearly 59 percent of people highlight the ability to change their itineraries and schedules as a significant benefit to traveling by RV.

Other benefits, such as predictability in terms of travel costs, avoiding loud and unruly passengers, and fewer travel delays also contribute to the rise in RV travel.

But, what makes San Bernardino such an attractive option?

While Southern California in general is a top travel destination, San Bernardino’s close proximity to scenic landscapes, outdoor adventure and diverse surrounding attractions contributes to its desirability.

The San Bernardino National Forest is on the city’s doorstep and was ranked no. 7 on USA Today’s most popular public lands for RVs.  Joshua Tree National Park, Palm Springs, and Mount San Jacinto State Park are also within a short drive.

San Bernardino also boasts the largest amount of RV availability on RVshare which opens the door to RV travel without the long-term costs associated with ownership.

“With more than 1,200 rentals from over 1,000 different owners, San Bernardino has the highest number of RV owners and rentals available over any other city in the state of California,” the online platform claims.

What some may label as an unexpected, travel experts say that the city’s location makes for a prime jumping off point for adventure in southern California.
