San Bernardino City Animal Shelter at critical capacity

San Bernardino Animal Shelter sees influx of lost or abandoned dogs

The San Bernardino Animal Shelter has seen a recent influx of lost or abandoned dogs and cats. Since September 6th, the Department has brought in 90 dogs alone.

As a result, the shelter is once again over capacity, with 192 dogs and only 130 kennels. This means dogs are sharing kennels or being housed in smaller spaces.

The shelter is asking if anyone has lost a pet or know someone who has, to come pick up their animal or if interested in adopting a dog, adoption fees are waived.

Fostering animals is also an option to help free up space at the shelter. Food and supplies to care for the fostered animals is provided by the shelter.

The San Bernardino Animal Shelter is located at: 333 Chandler Place, San Bernardino and is open for visitors from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm Tuesdays through Saturday.
