National Night Out set for August 4

Coming next Tuesday, the public has the opportunity to take part in the National Night Out, a family-friendly event for the community to connect with Law Enforcement.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department has events scheduled at 10 locations throughout San Bernardino County. Residents can meet their local deputies, explore Sheriff’s Department vehicles and equipment, participate in activities, and learn about resources available in their communities.

National Night Out events will be held at the following locations:

• Apple Valley — Civic Center Park, 14999 Dale Evans Parkway, 6 to 8 p.m.
• Barstow — Dana Park, 850 Barstow Road, 6 to 9 p.m.
• Big Bear — Ski Beach, 41216 Park Ave., 4 to 6 p.m.
• Bloomington — Ayala Park, 17911 Marygold Ave., 6 to 8 p.m.
• Highland — Highland Police Department, 26985 Base Line, 6 to 8 p.m.
• Hesperia — Civic Plaza Park, 15833 Smoke Tree St., 5 to 8 p.m.
• Rancho Cucamonga — Victoria Gardens North Main Street (between Monet Avenue and Kew Avenue), 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
• Victorville — Mojave Vista Park, 16252 Burwood Ave., 6 to 8 p.m.
• Yucaipa — Yucaipa Community Park, 34900 Oak Glen Road, 5 to 8 p.m.
• Twin Peaks — Twin Peaks Sheriff’s Station, 26010 Highway 189, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6.

National Night Out is held annually in communities across the country to strengthen relationships between law enforcement, first responders, community organizations and residents while promoting crime prevention and neighborhood partnerships.
