Free Gift a Kid a Book event happening Saturday, Nov 15

First 5 San Bernardino and the San Bernardino County Museum invite families across the county to a free event dedicated to inspiring lifelong readers. The Gift a Kid a Book Community Fair is on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the San Bernardino County Museum in Redlands, rain or shine! The first 100 guests will receive a free hot dog or taco with required registration. Registración en español y folleto en español.

This free, family-friendly event is part of First 5 San Bernardino’s Gift a Kid a Book campaign, an annual literacy initiative to help every young child foster a love of reading from the start. Families can enjoy free museum admission, free books from First 5 San Bernardino’s pop-up bookstore and entertainment, all listed below:

• Storytime sessions at 10:40 a.m., noon and 1:15 p.m.
• Entertainment by Twinkle Time and Rafael the Magician
• Face painting, balloon twisting and train rides
• Giveaways, snacks and resource booths

Reading together helps children develop critical language and social-emotional skills, strengthens family bonds and opens the door to a world of imagination and discovery. First 5 San Bernardino hopes to gift 5,000 books to county children during our Gift a Kid a Book Campaign happening now through Dec. 31, 2025.
