Food bank providing free lunch to educate public on food insecurity

Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino (FARSB) is inviting the public to join them for a free informational lunch to learn about food insecurity in the region and how it’s supporters enables them to feed people in need.  The event, Curbing Hunger: Beyond Barriers, will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 11:30 AM at 2950-A Jefferson St. in Riverside.

“This event serves as a reminder of the transformative impact a simple, affordable meal can have on a neighbor experiencing food insecurity,” said Carolyn (Solar) Fajardo, CEO at FARSB. “Let’s unite to address the needs of our community and discuss how each of us can contribute to making a difference in the lives of Riverside and San Bernardino County residents,” said Fajardo.

During the event FARSB will acknowledge influential leaders who have made a positive impact on their mission and unveil their vision for 2024 and beyond. A special spoken tribute will be dedicated to the memory of Daryl Brock, FARSB’s former long-time Executive Director, whose lasting contributions have paved the way for the organization’s present efforts.

Curbing Hunger: Beyond Barriers is sponsored by Vulcan Materials Company, Hodgdon Group, Chase, Enterprise, Wabash, Molina Healthcare, and Camel Financial. Albertsons is providing the complimentary meal featuring soup and bread, presented in a soup-kitchen style.
