Star gazing returns to San Bernardino County Museum

Cosmic nights returns to San Bernardino County Museum

Explore the night sky and reflect on humanity’s connection to the cosmos at the San Bernardino County Museum’s Cosmic Nights event on Jan. 24, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. This evening program offers guests the opportunity to enjoy a guided telescope viewing led by members of the San Bernardino Valley Amateur Astronomers (SBVAA).

Cosmic Nights is an evening of quiet discovery where the night sky becomes a gateway to wonder. As the stars brighten the view, visitors are reminded that they are part of a much larger story shaped by deep time, curiosity and our enduring relationship with the universe.

Founded in 1958, SBVAA is dedicated to introducing the community to astronomy, supporting amateur astronomers in the San Bernardino Valley area and fostering excitement and lifelong learning about the cosmos. During the event, SBVAA members will guide guests in observing celestial objects and sharing knowledge of the night sky.

Cosmic Nights will take place outdoors, weather permitting. Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Museum galleries will remain open throughout the evening, offering opportunities for both stargazing and indoor exploration.

General admission rates apply. Admission rates are $10 for adults, $8 for military and seniors, $7 for students and $5 for children ages 6–12. Children ages 5 and under are free. San Bernardino County Museum Foundation members receive 50% off admission.

Parking is free, and the museum is accessible to people with disabilities.

The San Bernardino County Museum is located at 2024 Orange Tree Lane, Redlands.
