UAS Center at San Bernardino Airport expands test site network

The UAS Center at San Bernardino International Airport (SBD) is expanding its test site network to accommodate increased demand for UAS testing. Through a unique partnership with the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF), the UAS Center at SBD plans to administer other sites for testing, training, and demonstrations in California.

The UAS Center serves as a test and demonstration site for drone technology companies as well as government and academic research institutions. The Center provides drone pilot training for public and private sector entities as well as consulting on standardization and integration of drone technology into their operations.

“Test sites for uncrewed aircraft systems must continue to evolve at the pace of innovation. The additional test sites will enhance our ability to serve our customers and provide them with convenient access to cutting-edge testing facilities,” states Kimberly Benson, Administrator, UAS Center at SBD. “As a trusted name in the industry, the UAS Center at SBD is committed to delivering high-quality solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. By cooperating with the University of Alaska Fairbanks, we aim to further strengthen our position as a reliable partner for both private and public sector entities.”

The new test sites will be strategically located to ensure widespread coverage and accessibility. This expansion will enable the UAS Center at SBD to effectively serve a larger customer base. By offering additional test sites, the Center aims to enhance the overall experience of their customers and to streamline their testing processes. Supported by the UAS Center at SBD’s full suite of services, clients can concentrate on their research and development, make informed decisions and drive their businesses forward.
