San Bernardino International Airport has record-breaking year

Twenty twenty five was a record-breaking year for the San Bernardino International Airport.

In a statement released Feb. 27, the San Bernardino International Airport Authority announced they had achieved significant milestones serving commercial airline passengers and supporting aircraft operations. SBD served more than 62,000 passengers in 2025, a 50 percent increase over the previous year. The airport handled 68,830 aircraft landings and takeoffs in 2025, an 18 percent increase compared to 2024, also marking a new record.

“Inland Empire residents and visitors are choosing San Bernardino International Airport for its convenience and affordability, and the record passenger activity in 2025 reflects this,” said Director of Aviation Mark Gibbs. “Additionally, increased flight activity last year shows that pilots, passengers, and businesses continue to choose SBD for their travel and aviation support needs.”

“SBD’s ongoing growth in passengers and aircraft operations illustrates the airport’s prominence and contributions in the Southern California market and how we are delivering opportunity as we continue to invest in the region,” Gibbs added.

SBD has evolved over the past 85 years in serving the local and regional community. Previously the Norton Air Force Base from 1942 to 1994, the airport is now a major economic engine and vital resource for the Inland Empire. With scheduled airline service, the nation’s three largest integrated air cargo carriers, Luxivair SBD, arguably the finest fixed base operator in the western United States, and significant MRO facilities, SBD and its valued partners create good-paying careers, welcome tourists, support business opportunities, and strengthen the region’s global connections.

IMPLAN analysis for SBD in 2024 includes over $5 billion in economic output and 18,693 direct jobs.

San Bernardino International Airport (SBD) began scheduled passenger service with Breeze Airways in August 2022. Nonstop flights to San Francisco and Provo, UT, are currently available. The airport also offers a full range of aviation services that include air cargo, business aviation, general aviation, and maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) businesses. The domestic passenger terminal is located at 105 N. Leland Norton Way, San Bernardino, CA, off the I-10 and I-210 freeways. On-airport parking is only $5.00 per day. The airport is located approximately 60 miles east of Los Angeles and within 30 minutes of more than two million people. For more information, please visit FlySBD.com.
