Goodwill to Hold Hiring & Resource Event

In recognition of October’s National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), Goodwill Southern California (GSC) will hold a Disability Resource & Career Fair October 15th in San Bernardino.

National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) is an annual recognition of the positive impact of people with disabilities in the American workforce.  It was originally set as a weeklong event in  October in 1945. Congress declared it as a month-long event in 1988. The 2026 theme is “Celebrating Value and Talent”.

Goodwill Southern California is a leading non-profit provider of job placement, training, and support services for individuals with barriers to employment, including:

  • People With Disabilities
  • Youth
  • Veterans
  • Justice involved
  • People experiencing homelessness

Goodwill SoCal is an AbilityOne® authorized provider and leading employment source for individuals with disabilities, and member of the SourceAmerica® network, which facilitates meaningful job connections via government and private sector contracts.

People with disabilities are a dependable and valuable part of the workforce, with higher employee retention rates, leading to lower hiring and training costs.

Goodwill SoCal has more than 100 locations in its territory – including employment centers, retail stores, outlet stores, boutiques, attended donation centers covering Los Angeles (north of Rosecrans), Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Ninety-five cents of every dollar generated from sales is dedicated to funding GSC’s mission to prepare and place individuals with disabilities and other vocational challenges in sustainable employment.
