San Bernardino Public Library holding book sale to fund programs

Feldheym Library’s Summer Book Sale coming May 30 and June 6

The Friends of the San Bernardino Public Library (SBPL) will be holding its Summer Book Sale on Saturday, May 30 and Saturday, June 6 from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm at the Norman F. Feldheym Central Library. Proceeds from the sale will help support programs at all four City Libraries.

Books, magazines and other reading materials, as well as DVDs, music and more will be available for purchase at discounted prices.  Most hardback books sell for one dollar each; paperbacks and children’s books start at $.25 each or five for one dollar; and most CD’s and DVD’s are only one dollar.

On Saturday, June 6, the sale will feature the library’s popular “fill the bag” promotion, where patrons will be able to fill a bag with books for only $3.

The Feldheym Central Library is located 555 West Sixth Street in San Bernardino. The Book Sale room is on the south side of the library, with a separate entrance from the main library.

Credit card payments are now being accepted for the first time. There is a $6.00 minimum purchase to use a credit card and there is a 3% processing fee. For cash purchases, denominations of $20 or less will be accepted.

For those unable to attend, a great selection of books and music are available for purchase as part of the on-going book sale at Feldheym Library, located on the main floor next to the Circulation Department. New items are refreshed weekly.

Donations of books and magazines, DVDs and music in good condition for future sales are accepted at Feldheym, Inghram, Rowe, and Villasenor Libraries during normal hours. Monetary donations are also accepted.

San Bernardino Libraries’ regular hours are:

  • Monday & Tuesday: Noon to 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Friday and Sunday: Closed
