San Bernardino Animal Services opens new kennel building

San Bernardino’s Animal Services Department expanded their operations at the Chandler Place Shelter last week, opening of a new kennel building and customer service center.

The new kennel building contains 32 kennels in a temperature-controlled environment. The kennels will be used to house additional dogs, including animals needing special treatment or medical isolation from other dogs.

The customer service center, which opened in late March, includes an expanded customer service area, dedicated space for the foster and volunteer programs, and space for staff from the non-profit animal rescue Lange Foundation staff.

The modular facility also provides necessary workspace for new staff members that have been recently hired since the shelter expanded its services to include the neighboring cities of Colton, Fontana, Grand Terrace, Loma Linda, and Rialto.

The City of San Bernardino Animal Shelter is located at 333 Chandler Place and is open seven days a week from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm with adoptions available between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm.
