It’s time to Love Your Block, San Bernardino.
Love Your Block is a community-driven initiative that empowers San Bernardino residents to take an active role in revitalizing their neighborhoods through beautification, clean-ups, and public art.
Beginning February 27, eligible applicants such as San Bernardino residents 18 years and older, non-profit organizations, neighborhood associations, community-based organizations, and SBUSD school representatives can apply for mini-grants up to $5,000 for projects like murals, neighborhood clean-ups, Free Little Libraries, community message boards, mailbox place-making, tile art, neighborhood welcome signs, and community gardens.
Projects must:
- Benefit the community and improve the neighborhood
- Be located within San Bernardino city limits
- Focus on community art, vacant lot cleanups, or both
- Address at least one issue: blight, safety, or lack of beautification
- Include a maintenance plan for long-term sustainability
The deadline to apply is March 31. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Winners to be announced in April 2025. Projects need to be completed by August 3, 2025.
San Bernardino was one of 16 cities across the nation chosen by the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins University to participate in the Love Your Block grant program. The city was awarded $100,000 to support mini-grants for community-led revitalization projects.
