We know that sushi is an acquired taste for many folks, but it has been growing in popularity in Southern California for years. San Bernardino now has at least seven restaurants specializing in the Japanese dish and we look forward to visiting each one over the coming months.
Meiga Sushi is located in the old Flowerland Plaza on East Highland Avenue and has been in business for a number of years boasting a wide selection of sushi, sashimi, and sushi rolls. For the less adventurous in your dining party, they also offer cooked dishes of Teriyaki, Tempura, Teppan and Udon with Chicken, Beef or Salmon. There is also a kid’s only lunch menu.
We ordered the sushi plate with the California Roll and seven types of sushi with tuna, salmon and shrimp along with several individual rolls from the menu including the Meiga Special and “Love Me” roll.
The food was fresh and artistically presented, even for take-out, (which we ordered). Better yet, it was delicious and appetizing. Portions at sushi bars can vary dramatically and we are happy to report that Meiga Sushi provides good sized portions for their reasonable pricing!
Our take-out order was ready in twenty minutes, even with the busy afternoon crowd. Overall, Meiga Sushi is fine sushi at a good price with excellent and friendly service. Whether you have enjoyed sushi for many years or are new to the experience, you will not be disappointed in this restaurant.
Meiga Sushi is open Monday through Saturday from 11:30 AM to 10:00 PM and on Sunday from 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM. Indoor dining is also available.
