SAC Health, a community-based health center, completed the purchase of the former Wells Fargo regional headquarters building located at 1003 East Brier in San Bernardino, California. The newly acquired building will become part of the network of SAC Health campuses and clinics and will be its 12th location.
Renovations are set to start in the coming months to ensure that the space is appropriately converted for medical use, while extensive planning continues to determine the services that will be offered at the future SAC Health – Brier Campus. Opening of the new location is tentatively planned for the year 2025 and will provide additional space and access-point to health care services in the region.
SAC Health provides care to underserved populations, including Medi-Cal and Medicare, in the following areas: family medicine, pediatrics, behavioral health, dentistry and other specialties. The final list of services provided at the Brier Campus will be announced in the coming months.
This is the third consecutive year that SAC Health has announced plans to open a new clinic in the region. The need for quality healthcare has steadily increased as the region’s population continues to grow. “Acquiring the new building and what will be the latest health campus for SAC Health will provide us the much-needed space to not only expand our ability to see more patients, but also offer a full range of health care services in one location to streamline the patient experience,” explains Jason Lohr, MD, CEO of SAC Health. “Converting the space will also provide us the opportunity to outfit this location to be a modern facility with the latest equipment and technology.”
The future SAC Health – Brier Campus, originally built in 2007, sits on a 14.5-acre site with a five-story building that totals over 280,000 square feet. The campus will have two parking structures that will accommodate easy access for both patients and staff. “It was fortuitous we became aware that the property was available for acquisition at the time SAC Health was looking to expand. The location offers excellent access for patients in the region,” says Lon Mapes, president of LDM Commercial, who represented SAC Health in the acquisition of the property. Sean Fulp, vice chairman with Colliers, represented the seller in the transaction.
