First Commercial Passenger Flights Begin at San Bernardino

Marking a major milestone in San Bernardino International Airport’s (SBD) 80-year history, Breeze Airlines began passenger service on Thursday from San Bernardino to round-trip domestic destinations.  This is the first-time scheduled passenger airline service has been available from SBD.

Daily nonstop flights are now offered between SBD and San Francisco International Airport (SFO), with one-stop, same-plane service to Provo Airport (PVU) in Utah.

The inaugural flight was celebrated by local elected officials, past and present, as well as local media and residents enjoying their first flight from San Bernardino International Airport.  Passengers were welcomed at the passenger terminal by Breeze Airline employees and for the first time, Federal Transportation Security Administration officers screened passengers at SBD for boarding.

The new SBD-SFO nonstops will feature Embraer E195 aircraft seating 118 passengers, with 22 seats offering extra legroom. The E195’s two-by-two seating configuration means there are no middle seats onboard.
