San Bernardino to hold special council meeting

The San Bernardino City Council will hold a special meeting Oct. 24 to discuss the proposed Homeless Navigation Center.

The mayor and city council will hear a presentation on the 224-bed project that the city wants  to establish in the former School of Hope Building at 796 6th St., according to statement on the city’s website.

When completed, the facility will provide temporary housing to the city’s homeless population. The project was approved in May 2023.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. at Feldheim Library, 555 W. 6th St. Because of the start time, all written public comments and electronic requests to speak must be submitted by 12:30 p.m.

  1. You really don’t want downtown San Bernardino to come back. What do you think the people that stay there will do all day? They’ll wander the streets of downtown preventing any businesses from investing in our city or anyone wanting to go downtown for any reason.
