San Bernardino Joins 2025 Wyland National Mayor’s Challenge

San Bernardino Mayor Helen Tran is joining mayors from across the country in asking residents, businesses, and schools to make a commitment to save water by participating in the Wyland National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation.

“Water is one of San Bernardino’s most vital resources and we all must do our part to protect it,” said Mayor Tran, “By taking the pledge, our residents can show their commitment to sustainability and help San Bernardino become one of the most water-wise cities in the country.”

The Wyland Mayor’s Challenge is a friendly competition between cities across the U.S. to see who can gather the most pledges and become the most “water-wise.” The campaign runs from April 1 to April 30, and encourages participants to commit to taking simple, everyday steps to use water efficiently.

Pledges can include agreeing to take shorter showers, turn off the tap when brushing teeth, and fix slow leaks around the house.

This marks the second year that Mayor Tran is joining with the City of San Bernardino Municipal Water Department in calling on residents to step up and make a difference in their water use.

Residents who participate in the challenge contribute to environmental preservation and have a chance to win hundreds of eco-friendly prizes including $3,000 toward their utility bills. Schools in top winning cities will also receive special cash prizes for education supplies and 100 pairs of Zenni RemakesTM blue light reducing eyeglasses.

Participating in the challenge is quick and easy. To participate, enter online at mywaterpledge.com and make a pledge on behalf of San Bernardino. For more information about City of San Bernardino water conservation programs and tips, visit www.sbmwd.org/conservation.
