San Bernardino County seeking art in honor of mental health awareness month

The San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) is inviting all emerging artists to create and share an original work that represents and embodies the theme of mental health awareness for 2024.

The art will be part of an in-person exhibition at the San Bernardino County Museum in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month in May.  A reception will be held on Thursday, May 16 from noon to 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend and support all the participating artists.

Submissions are open to all mediums, and any use of technology, including poetry.

Art submitted must meet the following guidelines:

1) All submissions must follow the exhibition theme to qualify

2) All work submitted must be your own

3) Artist cannot submit on behalf of someone else

4) Artists under the age of 18 must have parent/guardian permission before submitting an entry

5) One submission per person

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being and must be reflected in the art submitted. Anyone interested in participating must fill out the online submission form and agree to the following terms:

  • All artwork submitted will be screened for approval.
  • By entering this exhibition, the artist consents to artwork being shared on the county’s social media platforms.

Deadline for submission is 5pm on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024. Late submissions will not be accepted.
