San Bernardino County Fire celebrates firefighter recruit graduation

Forty-four new probationary firefighters joined the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District following their graduation ceremony on March 21. The event was a celebration of the dedication and hard work of these men and women witnessed by over 500 family members, friends and community supporters.

San Bernardino County Fire Chief Dan Munsey addressed the graduates and attendees, emphasizing the unique commitment required in the firefighting profession. He noted, “When you become a firefighter, it’s not a job. Our duty is that this is a calling. The firefighters you see in front of you are willing to put their lives down for somebody that they’ve never met.”

The new firefighters have already started their careers, providing essential fire, rescue and EMS services throughout the county.

County fire is still seeking candidates to fill additional positions for firefighters and ambulance operators. Career opportunities include positions with the Office of the Fire Marshal, vehicle services, support services, and business operations, catering to a broad set of skills and interests.
