San Bernardino places in Top 10 for National Water Conservation Challenge

This past spring, Mayor John Valdivia and the City of San Bernardino participated in the Wyland National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation.

My Water Pledge is a friendly competition between cities across the US to see who can be the most “water-wise.” Mayors nationwide challenge their residents to conserve water, energy and other natural resources on behalf of their city.

Overall, residents around the nation made 759,000 pledges to change behaviors ranging from fixing home leaks to reducing harmful runoff into local streams.

San Bernardino residents rose to the challenge and took 8th place in this year’s competition. The only other California city to rank in the top 10 in the population category of 100,000 – 299,999 was Oceanside.
