Mongolian Bar-B-Q A Great Food Experience Since 1976

Mongolian Bar-B-Q A Great Food Experience Since 1976

The Mongolian Bar-B-Que on Highland Avenue has been serving great food for decades in the Stater Brothers shopping center at the corner of Del Rosa and Highland.

For those unfamiliar with this experience, Mongolian Bar-B-Que allows diners their choice of sliced meat along with noodles and a variety of vegetables and sauces that are then stir-fried together on a large griddle and served.

Diners begin by selecting a bowl of chicken, beef or lamb from the buffet and then fill the rest of the bowl with whatever vegetable or noodle items you can fit into or over it.  This becomes quite an exercise for many patrons as they fit items inches over the top of the bowl, which only adds to the dining entertainment.  At the end of the buffet is a large griddle where your meal is stir-fried and placed on a plate for your devouring.

We stopped for lunch this week and were welcomed by the restaurant owners along with a large crowd of diners for a Tuesday.  Our service was efficient and friendly and lunch includes complimentary hot tea, but they also have choices of soda for purchase with your meal.

While the restaurant appears small from the parking lot, this facility has a large seating area if social distancing is a concern for you.  The staff are conscientious of COVID-19 requirements and disposable gloves are provided at the buffet table.

We have enjoyed the Mongolian Bar-B-Que for many years and it is nice to know that even with the challenges that San Bernardino has experienced over time, this experience and the quality of their food has remained constant.
