The Mitla Café is a well-known dining spot for most San Bernardino residents. Located on Historic Route 66, Mitla’s has been serving travelers and residents for nearly 84 years with authentic Mexican Cuisine and great customer service.
We are pleased to share that nothing has changed, except that Mt Vernon is temporarily shut down for the replacement of the old Mt Vernon Bridge.
This visit we had the Taco, Enchilada and Chile Relleno plate and we were not disappointed. The taco was made with shredded beef, fresh lettuce and tomato, and cheese. The cheese enchilada was wonderful. But the best part of the meal was the Chile Relleno stuffed with cheese and lightly breaded.
All three served together made a fantastic lunch that nearly required a siesta afterwards, but I had to write this review!
Our servers were friendly and attentive refilling our drinks and salsa before we needed to ask. Overall, the prices are reasonable and the food is excellent. San Bernardino News Daily highly recommends you visit one of our favorite restaurants on the West End of town, especially with the additional challenges of construction they are facing.
