Free VITA tax services available for eligible county residents

Free income-tax preparation at CSUSB

Cal State San Bernardino will again provide free income-tax preparation to low-income individuals and families, senior citizens, the disabled, and people who don’t speak English.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program is being offered by the Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration, which is made up of undergraduate and graduate accounting students who have been certified by the Internal Revenue Service, according to to a statement on the university’s website.

The program is overseen by two certified public accountants.

Eligibility is restricted to individual and families with an income of no more than $75,000. Student volunteers are not certified to process returns for international students, nonresidents, or any returns that include cryptocurrency.

The VITA program is available through April 5. Walk-in service is available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, at Jack Brown Hall, Room 127, on the CSUSB campus, and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at San Bernardino Valley College in the business college, Room B-220.
