John H. Brill, M.D. has been named Arrowhead Regional Medical Center’s (ARMC) full-time chief medical officer. Dr. Brill has worked with ARMC for the past two years as the chief medical information officer consultant.
“It’s been a pleasure to be part of the ARMC team these past two years, and I’m looking forward to continuing our work together,” said Dr. Brill. “There’s always more that can be done to drive more efficient collaboration and help our teams deliver exceptional care. The shift to Epic has been a great step, and we’re already looking into other areas where we can drive similar improvements.”
Dr. Brill has a B.S. from Manchester University and obtained his M.D. from the Ohio State University College of Medicine, followed by a residency in internal medicine at Rush University Medical Center and Rush Medical College. He then spent 27 years working at Rush as a primary care physician, an assistant professor of medicine, and in numerous leadership roles. He served as chief medical information officer, associate vice president, associate chief information officer, acting chief information officer, and medical director of information services.
He is currently a licensed physician and surgeon in the state of Illinois and is a member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, the Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems, the American Medical Informatics Association, the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians.
“We’ve been very fortunate to have Dr. Brill as part of our team,” said William Gilbert, ARMC’s hospital director. “We’re always working toward providing our patient population with the best quality of care, and a big piece of that is making sure we’re always using the latest advancements in healthcare technology and ensuring our processes are streamlined, efficient, and modern. His expertise with healthcare informatics is going to be instrumental in driving innovation for the future, and I’m looking forward to having him on our team as a full-time member.”
