Work has begun on several bridges along Interstate 215 and Route 66.
Caltrans recently announced it will be conducting preventative maintenance on twelve bridges between Iowa Avenue and University Parkway along the 215 freeway. The project will include applying methacrylate, polyester concrete overlay, creating better vertical clearance and updating signage.
Work will occur Mondays through Fridays during the overnight hours, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and expected to last through February, 2025. Work is weather permitting and subject to change based on availability of materials.
During work, lane connector and ramp closures may take place within the project area, which will impact travel times.
“Structural improvements are critical to maintaining our roadways,” said Catalino Pining, Caltrans District 8 Director in a release. “These upgrades keep our infrastructure safe and supports long-term usability for all drivers.”
The $5 million project is funded through Senate Bill 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017. For more information, contact Jaspinder Hampal, Caltrans Public Information Officer at 909-383-4553.
