Arrowhead Grove receives state funding for next phase of development

The next phase of San Bernardino’s affordable housing project, Arrowhead Grove has received funding from the state’s Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities grant program.

National CORE, the project’s developer, announced it will receive half of the $15.8 million in an $8.7 million loan for housing and the remaining $7.1 million as a grant for community improvements to update sidewalk, bikeways, bus service and bus stops.

Phase four of the $200 million Arrowhead Grove Neighborhood Revitalization project consists of 92 affordable and sustainable mixed-income housing units, covered parking with solar panels and electric vehicle charging stations, a xeriscape landscape, permeable materials, bioswale, an enhanced tree canopy, community gardens, and a village green.

The Housing Authority of the County of San Bernardino (HACSB) partnered with National CORE in 2012 to revitalize the previous 1942 Public Housing site. Other partners include Housing Partners I, Inc. (HPI), Hope through Housing Foundation, Clancy Co., U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, County of San Bernardino, City of San Bernardino, California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, Dignity Health, the state’s Strategic Growth Council, Bank of America and JP Morgan Chase.

The first three phases of the project are Valencia Vista, Olive Meadow and Crestview Terrace, completed in 2016, 2017 and 2022 respectively for a combined 321 homes.
