Little League receives donation to rebuild snack bar following fire

Stater Bros. Charities and Dr Pepper have teamed up to provide $30,000 to the Citrus Little League to kick-start their rebuilding efforts of the snack bar at the Red Hill Community Park in Rancho Cucamonga.

Back in May this year, vandals burglarized and set afire the league’s snack bar, severely damaging the facility and the attached storage area. Equipment, merchandise, and many irreplaceable items were lost and destroyed. The league is trying to raise $50,000 to begin the process of repairing the snack bar.

“Not only was the building damaged, but the long standing history and items close to all of the families of Citrus were lost in the fire as well,” said a GoFundMe hoping to raise funds for the rebuilding process. “This was not just a snack bar, it was also used to store all of the kids equipment, Citrus merchandise, tables, chairs, sound equipment.”

Over the weekend officials with Stater Bros. Charities presented a check to the league during the their closing ceremonies.
