Changes are underway at the San Bernardino County Museum. The Hall of Biodiversity is undergoing a makeover and will receive a new installation.
Over the next two weeks, the exhibit will be closed while museum staff conduct final walkthroughs, install new animals from collections, introduce new educational materials, and incorporate unique interactive elements.
“We are excited to present the Hall of Biodiversity in its final form and are taking this time to ensure every detail is perfect,” said Curator of Integrated Biology Dr. Mackenzie Kirchner-Smith. “The soft opening will offer an exclusive first look at the space, where guests can experience our new exhibits and immersive displays showcasing the beauty and complexity of biodiversity across our region.”
A soft reopening will take place on March 22 at 11 a.m. and the first 100 SBCM Foundation and Kids Club members in attendance will receive an exclusive branded squishy polar bear stress reliever as a token to commemorate bringing back the elusive polar bear from the museum’s collections.
