Tesla Coming to San Bernardino

One of the world’s most dynamic companies is coming to San Bernardino according to this Facebook post from the city’s official feed:

The City wants to welcome Tesla to San Bernardino!

We are thrilled to welcome Tesla to the list of Fortune 500 companies with operations located in the City of San Bernardino, bringing business and job opportunities to our local economy. Tesla will soon be opening a facility in San Bernardino at 19640 Cajon Blvd. The facility is over 20 acres and includes over 5,000 square feet of office space and a warehouse over 321k square feet. We welcome having Tesla added as a community and business partner.

Exactly what operations Tesla is bringing to San Bernardino is unclear but according to local experts the addition of Tesla along with a great deal of investment by Amazon is great news for the city’s economic prospects.

It’s a good sign that Tesla has chosen San Bernardino for a center of operations it shows that companies see what San Bernardino has to offer, relatively inexpensive land and commercial properties, relatively low-cost housing and an available workforce as valuable,” said Jay Prag, Professor of economics and finance at the Drucker School.

Tesla also has operations in Temecula and Palm Desert.
