Volunteers Needed for January 27 Homeless Point-In-Time Count

San Bernardino County reports drop in homelessness

San Bernardino County’s homeless population has declined for the past two years, according to the results of its latest Point-In-Time count.

The count, conducted Jan. 22, identified 3,718 sheltered and unsheltered homeless individuals, a 3.1 percent decline from the 2025 count, according to a statement released by the county on April 29.

The county’s homeless population fell by 10.2 percent in the 2025 count, after increasing by one percent in 2024, 26 percent in 2023 and 6.6 percent in 2022.

“The Point-in-Time Count shows the progress our community is making and challenges us to continue to build on the framework that helps people find stability,” said Fourth District Supervisor Curt Hagman in the statement. “With strong partnerships and the right resources, we’re helping more people find safe, stable housing, and providing effective local programs to reduce homelessness.”

Two thousand four hundred and forty eight persons were classified as unsheltered this year, a 7.1 percent decline year-over-year, while 1,270 individuals were in a shelter, according to the statement.
