Success stories prove San Bernardino is a great place to do business

Two of the City of San Bernardino’s longest running family businesses and most successful both recently unveiled major expansion plans.

The Cummings family owned and operated Toyota Franchise took the media on a tour of the soon to be opened $20 million plus new Toyota Dealership.  The 85,000 square foot dealership will employ approximately 200 people and is expected to double the current sales volume of the existing dealership.  This will bring millions of tax dollars into the city coffers.  The Cummings family is not done there however.  In addition to the fact that they recently purchased the KIA dealership that had long been troubled, they also announced at the media day that the Subaru dealership they own at the auto-mall will be moving to an expanded footprint at the previous Toyota location soon.  This will necessitate an update of that property that will represent another investment of millions of dollars and more jobs and tax receipts for the City.

Another pillar of the community, the family-owned Mexico Café, which has 4 generations working together and was founded in 1951 is also expanding.  The second location will open in Temecula just a few miles away from the Pechanga Resort and Casino.

These success stories are proof that the City of San Bernardino can be fertile ground for success.  Both families have worked hard and stayed committed to their San Bernardino roots and are reaping the rewards of a life well-lived in San Bernardino.
