Mountain View Avenue Officially Reopened from I-10 to SB Airport

Interstate 10 commuters will pleased to know that Mountain View Avenue North of the freeway has been officially reopened and completely improved for commuters and commercial traffic.

The $14 million second phase of Mountain View Avenue was funded by the Inland Valley Development Agency marking the completion of significant infrastructure improvements that will alleviate congestion on surrounding roadways by providing direct access to the many distribution facilities along the San Bernardino Avenue and Mountain View Avenue corridors.

Improvements in the second phase included a new bridge over Mission Creek and repaving of Mountain View.  The previous phase constructed a new bridge over the Santa Ana River and was completed in 2012.  Total funding for the entire project was $26 million.

Multiple agencies were involved through the duration of the project including SBCTA, Metrolink, Railpros, SCE, SoCal Gas, City of Loma Linda, City of Redlands, and City of San Bernardino, along with support from the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians on cultural resource monitoring during construction.
