New Toyota of San Bernardino Dealership to Open Soon

The San Bernardino Auto Mall will soon welcome its largest ever dealership with the opening of the new 96,000 square foot Toyota of San Bernardino.

Fronting Interstate 215 just South of Orange Show Road, the new dealership will serve as the anchor for the auto mall and signals the revival of San Bernardino’s once-struggling commercial center.

Owner Cliff Cummings provided a tour of the new $20 Million facility that encompasses the area that once contained both a Scion and a Cadillac dealership and has now been designed as a state-of-the-art sales and service center for Toyota.

Toyota of San Bernardino is expected to nearly double the sales volume of the existing dealership up to nearly 800 vehicles a month.

“Our challenge hasn’t been selling cars, it’s been getting the inventory to meet customer demand,” said Cummings when asked about the prospects for his new operation.

The new dealership will also be capable of meeting all the service needs for existing customers and the new customers Toyota expects with 58 new service bays and a massive new parts department.  The entire facility is expected to employ 200 persons when build out is completed.

Toyota of San Bernardino’s new campus was designed by Miller Architects and built by Pence Construction, both local firms in Redlands.  Eighty-five percent of subcontractors were hired locally out of the Inland Empire for construction work as well.

“I asked our contractor to hire as many local contractors as possible,” continued Cummings.  “It is part of our commitment to our community, many of whom are already our loyal customers.”

Once Toyota moves into its new location, the current building will be demolished to make way for a new Subaru dealership, also owned by Cummings.
